This opportunity is for a secured role that is due to commence in April subject to approval. Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. This national programme of works focuses specifically on improving the resilience of National Grid infrastructure for electricity transmission, gas transmission and gas distribution across the UK. The improvements will deter, detect and subsequently delay disruption or damage to these assets.
Our appointment is part of a framework with two potential one‑year extensions, requiring our team to deliver on a diverse portfolio of transmission and distribution projects and programmes across the UK, both large and small. As part of a cohesive delivery team, we are responsible for programme management, planning, document control, civil and technology works and commercial management.
Mace consultancy Digital Engineering and BIM team reside within Mace consult assisting the client, Project, and Senior Managers with maintaining requirements, information standards, supporting the development and management of processes within common data environment and improving the delivery of the information management function. The role is to understand, develop and implement processes described within ISO19650 from assessment and need to project closeout. This includes how the information is produced and assured for digital delivery.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Acting as the on-site client lead, providing daily oversight of construction activities, logistics and contractor operations.
- Driving contractor performance through strong site presence, daily coordination and progress monitoring.
- Holding contractors to account on programme, planning and sequencing of works.
- Ensuring all works are delivered safely, in line with approved designs, specifications and quality standards.
- Managing interface management, integrating client direct‑let and specialist packages into the main works.
- Monitoring, recording and reporting on site progress, quality, safety, risks, issues and defects.
- Coordinating stakeholders, consultants and adjacent work areas to minimise disruption and risk.
- Supporting commissioning, handover and defects management through to project completion.
You’ll need to have:
- Degree qualified and have an advanced understanding of ISO19650 series and BS1192.
- Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
