The Group Wide Energy Programme (GWEP) is an opportunity to deliver the energy required to power the NDA Mission at reduced cost and make a significant contribution to meeting the Carbon Net Zero 2050 legal imperative. GWEP will also insulate the NDA Group from energy market volatility, as recently experienced due to the Russia/Ukraine conflict. GWEP will utilise NDA Group land to deliver a sustainable energy supply which will reduce our scope 1 and 2 CO2 equivalent emissions (c.33% of the NDA Groups c.1m tonnes of CO2e) whilst enabling socio‑economic benefits for our stakeholder communities through the creation of clean energy technology hubs.
There is a need to deliver new renewable generation capability across the NDA Group to reduce Scope 1 and 2 CO2e, whilst remaining alert of the resource and time constraint required to deliver this ‘demanding’ Programme. In addition, there are interim CO2 reduction targets for 2030 set by HM Government which NDA are required to support. In order to maximise the realisation of benefits, the NDA will go through an extensive technical and commercial optioneering and down‑selection exercise to determine the most appropriate solutions for each site and the NDA as a whole. This commercial evaluation requires additional expertise beyond the current team members.
To support the GWEP Programme Director and WS3 Programme Manager to plan market engagement and evaluate the differing contracting and commercial structures that may be used by GWEP to meet the strategic objectives of the programme. The volume of work to be completed necessitates the need for an additional short‑term resource (up to 3 months).
