The project:

Working with our established customer on a significant infrastructure regeneration programme investing over £400m on their site to modernise its facilities and capabilities. We are entering the 2nd phase of the site works, progressively delivering a further 7 assets by March 2027. To achieve this challenging target we are seeking a multi-disciplinary Project Manager to join our team working alongside our Customer and the Main Contractor on site to successfully complete the programme works. The role offers the opportunity to further your Project Management career taking responsibility for sections of the programme with a focus on the completion and handover process. This is a full-time position, initially as maternity cover, and then as part of the team for the duration of the project.

  • You will deliver and manage project plans from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
  • You will manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of senior project managers and other leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project.

  • You will manage design and wider consultant teams in a collaborative manner to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.
  • You will manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).

You’ll need to have:

  • Awareness of all stages of a project lifecycle.
  • Sound understanding of the principles of design, methodology of construction.
  • Good knowledge of planning techniques and software i.e. programmes, critical path analysis and progress assessment.
  • Effective written, verbal, graphic presentation and reporting skills.
  • Effective written and verbal skills appropriate to specific situations for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Clean background to obtain high level security clearance.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Construction related health and safety.
  • Change Management.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate reasoning.
  • Demonstrable commitment to integrity and ethical standards.
  • Team player.
  • Respect for others.
  • Self-motivation and enthusiasm.
  • Able to attend site full time.
  • Ability to undertake progress/quality inspections throughout the construction phases (demolition-handover).
  • To be educated to at least HND level in a construction related subject.
  • 5 years construction experience.
  • Hold a current CSCS card.
  • NEC Experience is a must.

You’ll also have:

  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the Construction sector.
  • Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience of working on projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of developing and forming relationships with other stakeholders within projects.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
  • Awareness of Contract Administration and of NEC3.
  • Understanding of contractual dispute resolution techniques.
  • Application of knowledge of the use of different construction materials and their associated time, cost, quality variables.
  • CDM and H&S regulations.
  • BREEAM, and renewable/sustainable materials and methods.
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Microsoft Projects or equivalent programme knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Town and Country planning requirements.
  • Sustainability and environmental issues.
  • Prince 2, APM, CIOB or equivalent relevant professional institution qualification.
  • H&S awareness.
