  • We are looking to appoint a
  • Security Controller to join our Defence team in

Preston , supporting the delivery of a high profile and highly regulated Defence programme of national importance.

This role requires highly trusted professionals who can operate with discretion, integrity and accountability within a secure environment.

Due to commence in late autumn to early winter, the position sits within an Integrated Client Team and offers responsibility for the safe and controlled delivery of complex construction and infrastructure projects within a long-term Defence programme.

This candidate should have eligibility to obtain and maintain UK security clearance (SC).

You’ll be responsible for

  • Managing and coordinating security clearance processes (BPSS, SC, DV), ensuring compliance with programme, client and security requirements.
  • Overseeing personnel security processes.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for vetting activities and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to facilitate security clearances.
  • Managing relationships with UKSV, client representatives and internal stakeholder on all security related matters.
  • Maintaining security governance arrangements and ensuring compliance with contractual regulatory and Defence security requirements.

You’ll need to have

  • Strong ICT skills and use of MS Office (Share Point, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of national security vetting for government, military, and other agencies.
  • Knowledge of data protection, freedom of information, and other relevant legislation.
  • Working knowledge of UK Government security vetting processes, including BPSS, SC and DV clearances.
