We are looking to appoint an Associate Director - Information Management to join our Defence team in Preston, supporting a major long‑term programme operating within air system and Defence environments. In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of Information Management strategies, standards and processes in line with ISO 19650 and Mace way, while establishing and managing the IM function across the project and programme.

The role is due to commence in late autumn to early winter and sits within an integrated client team operating in a secure and highly regulated environment.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Defining and delivering IM strategies, standards (Inc ISO19650) and processes within Mace Way and for client-facing projects.
  • Establishing and managing the project/programme IM function following the strategy, standards and processes set.
  • Executing assurance and quality control of documents and artefacts submitted and stored.
  • Providing expert technical and functional advice, contributing to, and shared ownership of aspects of global Digital Centre of Excellence including body of knowledge.
  • Proactively contributing to bids in terms of IM strategies and solutions, driving successful delivery.
  • Managing a large team (or several teams) of direct reports, driving the appropriate behaviours to achieve success and key performance indicators (KPIs), including a continuous improvement culture.
  • Providing performance management, technical and career development and coaching.
  • Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll need to have:

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain UK security clearance.
  • Information management leadership experience across a number of projects/programmes.
  • Information architecture. Naming, numbering, filing, ISO19650.
  • Technical qualifications and certifications such as APM IM, (or equivalent) Assoc of Information Managers.
  • Subject expert experience in key IM software including Aconex, Viewpoint, Business Collaborator, etc.
