We are seeking either an Associate Director or an experienced Senior hire to support the successful delivery of major capital healthcare projects, ranging in value from £50m to over £1bn. This is a key role within complex, high profile programmes, where you will work closely with the Project Lead to drive delivery, manage stakeholders, and ensure projects meet strategic, operational, and clinical objectives. You will play a critical part in translating project vision into delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved efficiently, safely, and in line with governance and regulatory standards.

Please Note: This role will be based in Plymouth and require 30% site attendance. Time on site will be expected to increase as the projects move from design to construction.
You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Supporting and deputising for the Project Lead across all aspects of delivery, including attendance at governance and management meetings.
- Assisting in delivering large scale capital projects, managing programme, cost, risk, quality, and health and safety performance.
- Managing delegated workstreams, coordinating stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and subject matter experts to drive progress.
- Supporting development, assurance, and coordination of business cases and project documentation across all project stages.
- Producing and managing project controls, including programmes, budgets, cost forecasts, risk registers, and scope documentation.
- Coordinating and delivering clear, accurate reporting on project performance, including progress, risks, issues, and key decisions.
- Implementing and maintaining change control processes, ensuring robust audit trails and governance compliance.
- Supporting operational readiness planning, including clinical service transition, workforce deployment, and digital systems integration.
- Supporting the industrialisation of new hospital builds in a first‑of‑a‑kind repeatable process implementation.
- Deploying collaborative skills in one of the largest contractor alliances in the UK that will roll out in Q3 2026.
- Promoting collaboration, providing guidance to project teams, and driving continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practice.
You’ll Need To Have:
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Commercial Management or similar).
- Proven experience supporting delivery of complex, large scale projects or programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in project controls including risk, cost, and programme management.
- Professional membership (e.g. APM) or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of procurement routes and contract administration.
- Experience developing or reviewing business cases in line with best practice guidelines.
- Ability to monitor financial performance including budgets and cashflow.
