The project: Our client is the utilities provider in the South-East geographic area. Their purpose is to deliver services in an environmentally sustainable, economically beneficial, and socially responsible manner and create sustainable long-term value for all.
You will work within capital delivery, and you will work with project teams in a collaborative environment interacting positively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for the simultaneous delivery of a number of water and water recycling projects and/or programmes within their AMP8 programme. The role will ensure our clients project governance procedures are followed including risk, cost and change control and will work collaboratively with other teams across the business to deliver projects.
Managing projects to deliver agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality parameters. Manages fees, risk mitigation and change control, collaborating with clients, consultants and contractors to coordinate resources, communicate strategy and ensure successful delivery aligned to client expectations.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting associate director delivery of project and programme management activities, ensuring timely, accurate outputs.
- Providing subject matter expertise to drive optimal outcomes across projects and business units.
- Managing design teams, consultants and stakeholders, including scope, fees, claims and change control.
- Preparing and maintaining integrated design, authority, procurement and delivery programmes.
- Managing project teams to achieve agreed objectives and strategic KPIs.
- Overseeing time, cost, risk and budget management, identifying risks and mitigations.
- Driving digital, responsible business and net zero carbon objectives through delivery.
- Providing subject matter expertise in project management, engineering, or risk.
- Supporting strategic reviews and capability development initiatives.
You’ll need to have:
- Substantial project management experience delivering small to large projects across complex construction environments.
- Professionally qualified (MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS or working towards) with relevant degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, construction sequencing, budgets, fees and commercial controls.
- Excellent stakeholder communication, coordination and collaboration skills, holding a valid CSCS card.
