The project:

We have two opportunities for ambitious leaders with a background in advisory services to join our expanding UK and Europe hub team within Mace consult. Part of our advisory services centre of excellence, our UK and Europe hub team will drive our function for work winning, commission delivery and liaising with clients and our internal sector teams to provide an end-to-end consultancy offer.

We are looking for specialists in:

  1. Property
  2. Mobility/Transport

For both roles, you will be visible, credible, and highly experienced in your field with strong stakeholder relationships with a variety of potential clients across UK and Europe. Working with our diverse service lines and subject matter experts, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing opportunities for our expanding Advisory Services as well as delivering your own portfolio of work directly to clients.

The successful candidate will bring industry-leading subject matter expertise around either the property or mobility sectors along with proven business development capability. You’ll be responsible for:

  1. Working with clients and our internal sector teams to develop opportunities for advisory services for new and existing clients, demonstrating the value add of influencing clients from the beginning of the project and programme lifecycle.
  2. Undertaking horizon scanning across the industry and creating thought leadership and collateral that positions Mace Advisory positively in the market.
  3. Leading a small team to maximise opportunities across the sector.
  4. Influencing strategic development & executing strategy to achieve vision across function and/or teams.
  5. Setting priorities and providing input into execution plan in the achievement of departmental key performance indicators (KPIs).
  6. Leading multiple commission teams to achieve agreed outputs, taking a leadership role working across multiple organisations and sectors on a global footprint.
  7. Holding full accountability for the performance of a portfolio of commissions and/or service lines.
  8. Accountable for business development and work winning, bringing together appropriate capabilities and resourcing to fulfil current and future client needs.
  9. Maintaining, cultivating and establishing a strong collaborative network, developing partnerships with key senior internal and external stakeholders.
  10. Leading the implementation of a systematic performance improvement cycle to continually improve the quality of a portfolio of commissions and/or service lines.
  11. Owning and driving the provision of technical expertise for more than one capability (e.g. financial modelling, business case, transformation, stakeholder management, etc.).
  12. Business ownership for client relationship management activities.
  13. Accountable for recruitment, resourcing, and retention delegated by the business unit director.
  14. Sponsoring the leading of corporate or value adding area/s e.g. regional liaison, EDI network liaison across Mace consult to proactively drive priorities set by the consult leadership team.
  15. Promoting the positive outcomes from advisory work to executive level internal and external stakeholders.
  16. Creating thought leadership and marketing collateral to advise potential clients of the value of engaging advisory services.
  17. Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll need to have:

  1. Master’s degree or equivalent level of postgraduate or technical study (or equivalent).
  2. Detailed technical/industry analysis of subject matter expertise at either sector/capability level.
  3. Experience of developing a vision and leading all aspects of delivery.
  4. Experience of strategic leadership in all components of project and programme management and delivery (policy, strategy, client environment) related to property or infrastructure.
  5. Experience of delivering client or organisational strategy.
  6. Ability to apply cross-sector thinking.
  7. Considered a subject matter expert in one or more specialist capabilities e.g. financial modelling, governance, transformation, planning, business case, etc.
  8. In-depth experience of delivery of an advisory service and demonstrates added value to programme and project delivery.
  9. Significant experience of leading a service line in a specialist field.

You’ll also have:

  1. Experience of deploying consultancy services across a wide global footprint.
  2. Recognised professional qualification in specialist technical area.
  3. System thinking/leadership experience – ability to make sense of complex markets and sectors.
  4. Evidence of global transformation in a market/sector.
