The Project

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in shaping the future of a major central government office project in the vibrant heart of Newcastle‑upon‑Tyne city centre? As the Lead Project Manager, you will deliver a high‑profile CAT B project. This role offers the unique opportunity to showcase your leadership and project management skills, ensuring timely, high‑quality, and cost‑effective delivery that meets client satisfaction. You will be the crucial link between the client, contractor, multi‑disciplinary consultants, and other key stakeholders, driving collaboration and excellence. Note: The role will be based in Leeds/Manchester and travel to Newcastle Upon Tyne also required.

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintaining robust quality systems aligned to service excellence.
  • Managing delivery across lifecycle to agreed milestones.
  • Supporting senior leaders with timely, accurate outputs.
  • Coordinating resources, teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Championing safety first behaviours and HSW framework.
  • Managing consultants, procurement, changes and risks.
  • Tracking programmes, budgets, performance and KPIs.
  • Ensuring compliant handover and continuous improvement.

Your Requirements

  • Construction or project management background.
  • Membership of or working towards RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Experience working in a consultancy environment.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of contract administration.
  • Able to identify and manage risk.
  • Capable of working collaboratively.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to obtain relevant security clearances - BPSS/SC.
