We are seeking an Architect to support a significant pipeline of site quality monitoring across a multi-disciplinary team. The role is to support our offices (London, Winchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds) in delivering the construction quality monitoring (CQM) Lead role. The CQM Lead shall deliver a quality monitoring service to monitor and report on the construction works identifying build quality and workmanship non‑compliance, health and safety hazards and risks during the works. The successful candidate will be supported by our Multi‑Disciplinary Design and Building Surveying team and will have opportunities to work across other public and private sectors where we deliver similar services.

Responsibilities

  • The role will include delivery of site quality monitoring roles in the Education sector.
  • The candidate will have a strong grounding in building technology including modern methods of construction (MMC).
  • Reviewing works on site for adherence with the contract, good working practice and manufacturers recommendations.
  • Managing specialist consultants to support where required i.e. M&E Engineers, Fire Consultants, Façade Engineers.
  • Effective communication both verbally and written, including ability to access and report on online information platforms.
  • Able to work collaboratively with other disciplines, site managers and supply chain members while administering sound construction judgement.
  • Familiarity with both JCT forms of contract, (NEC not essential, but advantageous).
  • Ability to manage your own workload and to work independently, including in design and tender of small to medium value maintenance projects.
  • Experience in delivering site inspection reports including use of tablet capture software.
  • The candidate will require DBS and basic security clearances for delivery of the role.

Qualifications

  • A relevant construction degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered Architect.
  • NEC Supervisor or NEC Project Manager Accreditation (not essential).
  • The successful candidate will have previous experience of undertaking a similar role.
  • Previous experience of working in the Education sector, having deep knowledge of the DfE's Output Specification, and the subsequent S25 - Technical Manual is preferred.
