You’ll be responsible for:
- Establishing a function and team for Solution Architecture for client projects and programmes, including recruitment for and building a high performing team.
- Defining and documenting reference architectures for different types and scales of client projects and programmes.
- Understanding individual client project and programme needs and applying these reference architectures to create efficient and effective digital solution eco-systems.
- Identifying opportunities for standardisation and productization of solutions.
- Maintaining a broad understanding of the overall architecture, business and system processes, data and technology across all client projects.
- Understanding business strategy and utilising expertise to create product architectures and capabilities that meet the strategic requirements of the business.
- Collaborating closely with client projects and product teams, the wider Architecture Team, System Integrators, Support Team Leads and Software Vendors to design solution architectures for key client projects and provide oversight for their execution.
- Confidently proposing security models for solutions to enable secure Single Sign On from a number of different organisations (clients, delivery partners, sub-contractors, consultants etc).
- Working with suppliers to understand as well as help shape product direction and aspects of architectural technicality.
- Ensuring innovations are production-ready, supportable, scalable and successfully adopted by client projects.
- Acting as a thought leader and SME (Subject Matter Expert) in how construction projects technology can optimise, streamline and accelerate client projects.
- Mentoring other solution architects and project team members on best practice, implementation approach and system design.
- Operating credibly with senior business stakeholders, Digital leadership and Client Project stakeholders.
You’ll need to have:
- Good experience and knowledge of the construction and real-estate projects sector as well as knowledge of a range of the common digital solution components that may include Autodesk Construction Cloud; Oracle products such as Primavera P6, Aconex, Unifier; Project Controls solutions for risk management, cost management; cost estimating; 3D modelling, augmented reality, drone imaging, document and information management other related platforms.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and how it is used in highly collaborative construction and real-estate projects settings.
- TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) certification (or equivalent), and expertise in applying architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or equivalent.
- Proven ability to design reference and target architectures, transition states and end-to-end solution architectures for their domain.
- Proven knowledge of cyber security principles and how they apply to construction and real-estate environments.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns, API‑led architectures, and middleware technologies.
- Experience governing architecture across complex, multi‑system environments.
- Be flexible to work on client projects which may require both UK government security clearance and flexibility to travel to meetings and work in client offices.
