Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey. This is a large-scale programme in which Mace are working as the Delivery Partner. This programme sits within Mace Consults Central Government team and is based in Surrey.
Please note: This role will be hybrid/Weybridge, Surrey and our London office.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the implementation of health safety and wellbeing (HSW) policies, procedures, guidance notes and standards.
- Liaising with all stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to HSW Management, in particular with our client counterparts within the bounds of the common agreement between parties.
- Carrying out inspections on behalf of the Delivery Partner, holding contractors to account, and driving good practice as standard.
- Assisting with the resolution of non-conformities raised in third party audits.
- Participating in the development of new standards and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Analysing results of audits, corrective actions and key performance indicators (KPI’s), identifying gaps for continuous improvement.
- Providing timely and accurate reporting for various audiences including delivery partnering leadership, intelligent client function and the Senior Responsible Officer.
- Ensuring Incident Investigations are completed on time and lessons are shared.
- Managing and providing leadership to a team of Managers and professionals, ensuring the principles, structures, tools/capabilities and responsibilities are in place to deliver area plans and deliver excellence.
- Providing performance management, technical development and coaching to the Mace and client team.
- Collaborating with senior leaders to deliver cost effective and efficient performance.
- Managing on the HSW portion of procurement of supply chain including ITT, PQQ and assessing tender submissions.
- Driving a culture of proactive and positive HSW management across the Delivery Partner, and the wider programme team.
- Overseeing HSW emergency preparedness and in liaison with the estate H&S Team and in line with the estate emergency arrangements.
- Ensuring that the programme (in particular the client organisation) is complying with its duties under the law.
- Securing the HSW of the Mace team on the programme.
- Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll need to have:
- Proven HSW leadership with advanced legislative knowledge, delivering assurance, audits and improvement.
- Strong stakeholder influence, clear communication and presentation of technical to non-technical audiences.
- Experience improving management systems, managing risk and change, with commercial awareness.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, recognised HSW membership, continuous development and construction industry knowledge.
