The Associate Director shall work with and integrate with the wider programme delivery teams and Cost Consultants to provide support to MoJ Finance Business Partners providing confidence in delivering the programme within approved budgets and to meet committed financial year spend.
To perform the role, you will take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often with respect to large and complex commissions with a particular focus on consistent and accurate finance management, cashflow accuracy, risk mitigation and commercial controls.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Acting as a critical friend to HMPPs Finance managers, co-ordinating and collaborating wider team and external cost management delivery partners to provide informed consistent and accurate reporting.
- Collaborating with Mace risk managers to provide structured EMV-driven process for risk and contingency management, leading conversations with stakeholders and aligning structured and consistent approaches to Risk allowances, unlocking contingency in a timely manner to support programme delivery.
- Collaborating with Mace planning managers and Cost Consultants to provide an aligned and consistent approach to cashflow forecasting, challenge risk profiling.
- Managing reporting into the Mace sector lead, providing trend analysis, updates and narratives to support cashflow movements.
- Monitoring and flagging financial year under and overspend and identifying strategies through contract management to deliver planned year on year spend.
- Supporting teams deliver business plan, liaising with Mace finance teams monitoring planned and actual fee spend, providing quarterly updates to Commercial lead.
- Supporting forecasting of fees, income and costs, collaborating with programme leads to provide month on month reconciliation of income and cost to determine margin position.
You’ll need to have:
- Proven experience working in high performing teams within a commercial environment.
- Good working knowledge of contracts (particularly NEC), change control, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling.
- Experience using Oracle or similar financial platform.
- Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels is essential.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering service excellence to clients.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Degree in a relevant construction related qualification and preferably a Chartered professional member (RICS or CIOB)
- Construction background in Cost and/or Commercial Management and be keen to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
