The project: Mace provide PMO services (project controls, planning and scheduling, risk and digital (BIM)) to the aviation sector and mobility market commissions. The role holder collaborates with the project and programme managers to implement and follow project management methodologies, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
The 4D Specialist is responsible for developing 4D models at various stages, establishing and maintaining the 4D model to prove both the design and programme represent the sequence of works on the Project, highlighting physical and time clashes alongside opportunities.

You’ll be responsible for:
- Initial creation, linking, maintenance and delivery of the Synchro 4D model based on a self-designed strategy.
- Transformation, optimisation, and organisation of limited design team models into flexible and constructable objects for planning use (with direct integration if possible).
- Creation of logistics, land use and temporary works 3D models.
- Creation of constructable permanent works 3D models from limited design information.
- Assisting in the integration of plans and sketches provided by contractors and suppliers.
- Creating reoccurring lookahead visual outputs for team briefings and reports.
- Run ‘what if’ scenarios within 4D environment against baseline models to identify programme risks and opportunities.
- Ensuring robust quality systems are in place and suitably managed in line with service excellence.
- Adding SHE data to the model to assist the H&S team.
- Adhering to the programme security requirements.
- Assisting with the planning, scheduling, and delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with programme goals and objectives.
- Ensuring that the organisation's project management methodology is correctly implemented and understood.
- Implementing 4D models to track and monitor progress.
- Providing visual validation of construction timelines to support assurance reviews.
- Training and upskilling the planning team in the use of Synchro and associated planning related considerations for optimal and efficient 4D Modelling.
- Contributing to knowledge sharing and training, helping to develop project management skills and capabilities across the organisation.
- Providing guidance and support to project and program managers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and tools to succeed.
- Developing 4D modelling guidelines and assurance checklists.
- Ensuring alignment with PMO standards, governance frameworks, and digital delivery strategies.
- Performing additional tasks, activities or other duties as may be required or assigned as part of the role.
You’ll need to have:
You will have experience of planning on large, complex £100m plus projects with excellent knowledge of Synchro, AutoCAD, Sketch Up and Primavera. You will also have a great understanding of construction methodology and logistics, planning technique, 5D and 6D for addition to the created models; and technology integration and data processes.
