Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy.

Sizewell C (SZC) will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low‑carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, playing a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.

Civil Works Programme is a 10‑year infrastructure delivery programme encompassing enabling works, tunnelling, marine works and main civil construction for the nuclear plant.

Success relies on strong collaboration, programme leadership, integrated delivery, supply chain optimisation, and leveraging proven HPC experience to drive performance, productivity and operational excellence.

  • You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Leadership input to and Implementation of strategy to embed HPC civil construction learning into SZC.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders within the CWA and client organisations to ensure priorities are aligned and communicated to delivery teams.
  • Ensuring that “best for project” decisions are made across various interfaces.
  • Escalation/resolution of relevant matters outside of the Delivery Team’s delegation of authority.
  • Anticipating, managing and resolving transverse issues i. e. those not limited to specific geographical areas.
  • Identifying risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised and escape as necessary.
  • Applying the principles of earned value management (EVM).
  • Applying the principles of continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring that lessons‑learnt and knowledge‑capture are practiced as business as usual.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all project team members.
  • You’ll Need To Have
  • Experience of managing/influencing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects.
  • Excellent presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in Client organisations.
  • Strong technical background in reinforcement detailing or other core civil disciplines.
  • Experience of working with Alliances and Joint Ventures.
  • Experience of civil construction on HPC.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment/industry.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of MEH interface appreciation.
  • Chartered member of relevant Institution.
  • APM Project management qualification.
  • Experience of working in programme of works with multi nationalities and cultures.
