The Project Controls Manager in the CI-BoP Programme is ultimately responsible for ensuring the provision of robust, timely and trusted information to support decision making across the Programme and will have day to day management of the other Project Controls resources within the Programme.

You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Day to day management of the team of controls functions within the Programme.
  • Responsible for liaising with the supply chain and the central client finance team to establish and agree annual budgets and reporting of financial performance in line with shareholder requirements and those set by the PMO.
  • Support the Programme Director with progress reporting including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensuring the Project controls team produce weekly/monthly reports in line with the PMO reporting calendar, providing details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances.
  • Ensuring that Project controls processes are consistently applied across the NI Programme.
  • Support and advise NI Project Managers and the supply chain with the application of Project Controls requirements, policies, procedures and the standards required to deliver projects.
  • Responsible for 4 to 6 Direct Reports (Heads of Function) and up to 20 indirect reports (at peak).
  • Accountable for assuring the establishment of the baseline budget and schedule (including risk).
  • Accountable for monitoring, assessing, and assuring project costs, schedule and risks.
  • Accountable for establishing the monitoring process for management of contracts.

You’ll Need To Have:

  • Substantial professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the Programme, Project, or Commercial Management disciplines.
  • Detailed understanding of governance, strategic planning techniques, strategic risk analysis, construction technology, delivery, site logistics, commercial and legal/contract issues.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of how to drive performance improvement.
  • Excellent presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
  • Educated to at least degree level, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience of shaping and developing strategic changes through management of large programmes.
  • Experience of managing contractors, consultants, and other advisors throughout large and complex construction programmes, in a regulated environment.
  • Achieved membership/fellow/certified fellow status with one or more professional institutions.
