A senior ecological leader driving biodiversity excellence across major infrastructure programmes. Leads BNG strategy, technical assurance and compliance, shaping client solutions and championing innovation. Strengthens Mace’s sustainability agenda through consultancy delivery, work-winning, and upskilling teams, ensuring long term environmental value and industry leading performance.
Site travel - 2 days per week - Peterborough - Travel Allowance and Car Allowance £7,200 per annum paid in addition to base salary.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing development and delivery of BNG strategies and compliance.
- Providing strategic oversight of biodiversity performance, KPIs and management.
- Supporting client environmental objectives and nature‑based solutions.
- Embedding biodiversity capability through upskilling programmes.
- Championing long‑term environmental legacy and innovation.
- Driving work‑winning and business development.
- Mentoring teams and strengthen service excellence.
- Shaping biodiversity and nature‑based solutions across infrastructure.
You’ll need to have:
- Degree in ecology, environmental or sustainability disciplines; postgraduate study desirable.
- Chartered status (CEnv, IEMA, CIEEM) preferred.
- Proven BNG leadership on complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong UK environmental planning expertise with confident client engagement and relationship building.
