You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Developing and supporting the implementation of processes for the legal team.
  • Reviewing legal documents including simple contracts and carrying out legal research under legal supervision.
  • Contributing to the updating of legal precedent documents.
  • Supporting and delivering internal training sessions on legal processes to teams.
  • Checking and reviewing contracts and arranging for signing and e-signing by relevant signatories.
  • Responsible for arranging the legal team document archiving process.
  • Assisting the legal team with administration tasks including scanning, copying, message taking, and answering calls.
  • Providing in-person point of contact into the legal team.
  • Supporting the maintenance of the legal inbox and workflow processes.
  • Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

GDPR portfolio:

  • Providing data protection regulatory advice and support to Mace globally, supported as necessary by more senior members of the data protection team.
  • Responding (as appropriate) to a range of GDPR queries, requesting assistance where required.
  • Supporting and carrying out review of UK data protection provisions in contracts, DPAs and other documents with support from more senior members of the GDPR team.
  • Co-managing GDPR requests from data subjects, such as DSARs, access requests and data subject rights.
  • Supporting the GDPR team with incident and breach management, investigation and notifications (under supervision).
  • Supporting with the delivery of training, legal and GDPR research on data protection matters, initially in the UK and then for specified jurisdictions, with support.
  • Providing assistance with the communication/roll-out of the ROPA (record of processing activities) under instruction.
  • Supporting with the regulatory registrations and certifications process globally, including first point of liaison with the regulatory authority for these requests (under supervision).
  • Checking and managing the DSARs, SARs, regulatory internal monitoring, audit and reporting, including updating and maintenance of these internal registers, managing the Data Compliance Assistant on these tasks and processes.

You’ll Need To Have

  • Highly skilled in Excel, SharePoint, Word and ability to deploy advanced functionality.
  • Understanding of legal requirements for contract signing, information security and storage.
  • Law degree or other relevant legal experience/qualification (or equivalent).
  • Skills and prior experience in legal research.
