The predicted salary is between 80000 - 100000 £ per year.

The role is accountable for the Consolidated Group Reporting and provides technical financial accounting expertise across the Group.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Group Consolidation process and production of the group financial statements.
  • Be the subject matter expert on IFRS accounting policies and act as a source of reference for the wider finance team, supporting technical accounting projects in relation to new accounting standards and business transactions.
  • Act as the main point of co‑ordination on the group audit.
  • Preparation of technical accounting papers and Accounting Matters Report for review and discussion by the senior finance leadership team.
  • Responsible for the preparation of annual impairment reviews for investments, goodwill and other assets as required by IFRS9 and IAS36.
  • Work in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer in supporting & maintaining a robust financial controls framework across the finance function.
  • Support development of internal financial accounting training programme for the finance function.
  • Provide expert technical/functional advice & counsel in responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data.
  • Partner with a range of internal and external stakeholders, working in collaboration to implement strategy/initiatives.
  • Provide development support to team members.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years (or equivalent) working in a technical accounting role.
  • Highly advanced technical/functional knowledge including group consolidations.
  • Demonstrable experience of applying IFRS to large groups.
  • Intermediate/advanced excel user.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Team leadership & advanced engagement & influencing skills.
  • Comfortable to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, building trusting and respectful relationships; manage, influence & negotiate with key senior stakeholders (up to c‑suite).
  • Uses your own judgment to make decisions and elevate problems when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Demonstrable hands‑on experience of using accounting systems (Oracle, Coda Dream and TM1 preferred).
  • Financial modelling experience.
