Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C will be a 3.2‑gigawatt power station generating low‑carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, playing a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved right from the start of such a historic project. Work to date has primarily focused on enabling works for site readiness. Work is commencing with great speed in the following areas: road, rail, fencing, security, water systems, utilities, and the build of modular and industrial facilities.

    • You will manage design and wider consultant teams in a collaborative manner to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.
    • You will lead and manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub.

You’ll need to have:

  • Demonstrable project management success on delivering utilities (power, natural gas, portable water, foul water, telecommunications) solutions in respect to new connections, disconnections, diversions and protections within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental.
  • Working knowledge of service avoidance and safe digging practice, in accordance with HSG 47.
  • Demonstrable thorough understanding of utilities builder work in connection (BWIC) and CDM regulations.
  • Comfortable in the co‑ordination of multi‑disciplinary teams made up of designers, contractors, internal and external stakeholders, local authorities and community liaison representatives.
  • Ability in making sound decisions based on understanding of project criticality and best for project outcomes.
  • Experience building lasting client relationships and leading strong, motivated teams.

You’ll also have:

  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Substantial experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the utilities sector.
  • Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience of leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
