The project: We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager with a strong electrical background to lead the commissioning of mission‑critical data centre projects. This role will see you take ownership of the commissioning process across electrical and supporting MEP systems, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest technical standards.

As a Commissioning Manager, you\’ll play a vital role in planning, overseeing, and delivering robust commissioning processes on high‑profile construction and engineering projects. You’ll work closely with our site teams, specialist contractors, and independent witnessing authorities to ensure everything is tested, documented, and handed over exactly as promised.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full commissioning lifecycle, from planning and risk management to final system sign‑off.
- Act as the go‑to expert on all things commissioning, coordinating with project managers, cost managers, consultants, and clients.
- Develop and maintain commissioning strategies, plans, and trackers aligned with MiCiM’s ISO‑accredited processes.
- Attend and coordinate off‑site testing and factory witness visits.
- Guide teams through Level 1–5 testing and sign‑off procedures.
- Proactively manage risks, escalare issues, and identify opportunities to improve delivery.
- Ensure that safety, quality, and client satisfaction are at the heart of every project.
You’ll Be Responsible For
- Directing the planning, execution, and documentation of commissioning activities for data centre projects, with a primary focus on electrical systems (HV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, protection, etc.).
- Overseeing commissioning schedules, method statements, and test scripts, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Coordinating and managing subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning agents.
- Witnessing and sign‑off functional and integrated systems testing (IST).Ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and safety protocols.
- Providing technical input and problem‑solving support during project delivery.
- Working closely with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure a seamless handover.
- Preparing and delivering detailed commissioning reports and progress updates.
You’ll Need To Have
- Degree or technical qualification in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning Engineer within the data centre or mission‑critical sector.
- Strong expertise in electrical systems (HV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, protection systems).
- Knowledge of supporting mechanical systems and controls integration in a data centre environment is desirable.
- Strong understanding of commissioning procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to work on fast‑paced projects with tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work on‑site as required.
