You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports.
  • Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project.
  • Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Representing Mace to clients, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract.
  • Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.

You’ll Need To Have

  • Previous experience working in a cost and commercial management position for a construction consultancy. (Preferred, not essential)
  • Knowledge of MEP and experience working in multiple sectors.
  • JCT/NEC form of contract experience essential.
  • Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience.
  • Knowledge of contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
  • Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration.
  • Knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing.
  • Understanding of industry best practice.
  • Understanding of hot topic issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, Carbon Reduction impacting Public Sector.
  • Capex V Opex Cost Analysis/advice.
  • A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent.
  • Professional membership i.e., MRICS/RICS. (Preferred)
