This role will play a key part in planning, delivering and reporting on community engagement activity in support of a high-profile programme, including the production of statutory engagement documentation required for regulatory and licensing purposes. The role combines senior level advisory input with hands on delivery, working closely with communications specialists and wider stakeholders to ensure robust, accessible and compliant engagement outcomes.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Providing senior level advice and guidance to internal communications specialists on strategic and technical aspects of community engagement.
- Designing and drafting public engagement surveys, informed by previous research and insight, and aligned to planning, accessibility and data protection requirements.
- Overseeing and coordinating engagement activity, ensuring quality, consistency and alignment with programme objectives.
- Analysing survey results, including coding, interpretation and reporting.
- Writing a statement of Community Engagement, suitable for licensing and planning submission.
- Drafting public engagement reports, clearly presenting findings, insights and recommendations.
- Ensuring lessons learned and insights inform future engagement activity.
You’ll need to have:
- Significant experience delivering public or community engagement on major schemes, ideally within regulated or Defence related environments.
- Proven experience producing engagement documentation for planning purposes (SCI experience preferred, although alternative planning routes will be considered).
- Strong experience designing engagement surveys and analysing consultation data.
- Excellent report writing capability, with experience producing clear, structured public facing and regulatory documents.
- Confidence operating at both strategic and delivery levels, working independently and with multiple stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of accessibility, data protection and good practice in public engagement.
- Strong and proven experience in community engagement, consultation or a related discipline.
- Eligibility to get BPSS and SC clearance.
