We are looking for a Communications Manager to join our Defence team in Reading and lead the development and delivery of integrated marketing and communications activity. This is a strategic and hands-on role, responsible for translating business priorities into impactful communications campaigns that support growth, strengthen client relationships, and enhance brand positioning. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes across multiple channels.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering an annual marketing and communications strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of integrated campaigns, from planning through to execution, measurement, and optimisation.
- Supporting strategic bids and capture plans with targeted marketing and communications activity.
- Managing account-based marketing (ABM) for key strategic clients.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders, clients, and external partners.
- Collaborating across communications functions (PR, internal communications, campaigns, and digital) to deliver aligned activity.
- Using market insights and analysis to inform strategy and identify opportunities.
- Partnering with digital and creative teams to deliver impactful, content-led campaigns.
- Using data, reporting, and dashboards to measure performance and continuously improve outcomes.
- Managing budgets to ensure effective allocation of spend and return on investment.
- Acting as a brand ambassador, ensuring all communications align with brand guidelines and strengthen market positioning.
You’ll need to have:
- Proven experience in a marketing and/or communications role within a professional service, construction, infrastructure, or built environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering integrated marketing campaigns.
- Experience engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong planning and budget management capability.
- Experience supporting bids, business development, or client engagement activity.
- A data-driven approach, with experience using insights and analytics to inform decisions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
- Commercial awareness and focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
