Accountable to the Head of Commercial and Performance who leads the central commercial function on SPA. You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing assurance plans.
- Providing robust cost intelligence ensuring compliance with contractual and organisational requirements.
- Fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance within the cost assurance team and across the wider project environment.
- Ensuring that the cost assurance team demonstrates proactive engagement across the SPA delivery teams to assist in identifying risks, driving process improvements, and providing assurance that commercial controls and reporting are effective.
- Ensuring that the cost assurance team members champion continuous improvement, to ensure commercial objectives are met, risks are managed, and value is delivered for the SPA organisation and its partners.
- Being commercially conscious - ensuring the money spent on SPA is assured while also helping the central SPA finance team in their duties.
- Ensuring the SPA commercial processes and procedures we follow and the outputs we generate are audit ready - for both internal and external auditors.
- Ensuring that operations are carried out to control costs, maximising value, minimising future liabilities and maintaining the required standard of quality and safety whilst also ensuring that maximum efficiencies are obtained and full compliance with the Alliance and Anglian Water governance procedures is achieved.
You’ll need to have:
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Finance Management or similar.
- Professional membership: RICS, CICES, CIMA or equivalent (preferred).
- NEC4 accredited or trained (highly desirable).
- Strong NEC4 PSC commercial management experience.
- Strong background in infrastructure, water sector or major programmes.
- Knowledge of cost management, CE assessment, defined cost and fee mechanisms.
- Experience within consultancy environments.
- Detail-oriented with strong contractual and analytical skills.
- Proactive, collaborative and able to operate in fast-paced environments.
