Project: We are looking to employ a full-time Senior Social Value Manager to work within our consultancy division in the South West (Some travel covering Plymouth, Poole). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of social value strategy, consultancy across large scale infrastructure projects for a government client across the region. Travel across the South West will be required as part of the role. They will be a member of Mace’s wider Social Value team feeding into the delivery of Mace’s own social value KPIs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading the development of social value strategies and plan(s) on the projects, including agreeing and assuring project outcomes and ensuring their delivery.
- Deliver programme of strategic social value initiatives such as Skills and Employment Forums and social value core groups bringing industry professionals together to collaborate and amplify delivery of social value across the programme.
- Supporting the establishment of a Social Value Community of Practice, creating tools, best practice templates, guidance and champions network as well as delivering social value training.
- Supporting and advising on place-based Local Needs Assessments (LNA).
- Delivering social value consultancy services, working collaboratively with the client and their Technical Authority to drive improved performance and maximise outcomes.
- Working with and leading supply chains and delivery partners to develop social value KPIs.
- Co-ordinating regular sustainability and social value reporting, including using Power BI.
- Contribute social value inputs to support Business Case generation and client Social Benefit Annual Report.
- Attending client meetings and project review meetings to report outputs, issues, and risks.
- Establishing strong, positive relationships with the client, identifying opportunities for further work and support.
- Potential management of colleagues within the Mace social value team.
- Writing bid submissions and representing the social value team in bid presentations.
- Supporting the development of the social value service offer across the business, including marketing/branding material and case studies.
- Supporting the delivery of Mace’s Social Impact strategy and targets.
- Identifying best practice and successes and producing written reports, case studies and communications to assist with celebrating success and sharing best practice.
- Any other ad hoc social value duties as required dependent upon client and business needs.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Sciences, Geography, or related subject (desirable).
- Fellow of (or actively working towards Fellow) Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS) or similar.
Experience and attributes:
- Practical experience in the healthcare sector would be beneficial.
- Experience in project, contractor, stakeholder engagement or delivering employment and skills requirement, including embedding social value into supply chain procurement and supporting the supply chain to deliver social value outcomes.
- Experience developing education and employability outreach programmes and solutions, tailored to client aspirations and local needs.
