Cash car allowance of £6,000 per annum in addition to salary. 27 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays. Hybrid working pattern, typically 2–3 days per week in the office or on site, with the remainder from home. The team places a strong emphasis on development and chartership support. The project: Mace is engaged as consulting building surveyors across the Midlands, partnering with local government councils and higher education institutions to deliver a diverse portfolio of projects. Our current scope includes school refurbishments, new build schools, and university capital works/reactive maintenance.
Through this programme, Mace provides end to end building surveying expertise - from feasibility and design stage input to technical advisory and project delivery. The focus is on creating high quality, sustainable learning environments that meet the needs of local communities while ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and long-term asset resilience
Provides expert building surveying services, inspecting fabric systems for asset management and project delivery. Coordinates teams and produces technical reports aligned with standards for regional and national programmes across public and private sector clients.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Complete building surveys for assessment and defect diagnosis.
- Prepare professional reports and specifications.
- Produce technical drawings using CAD tools.
- Ensure health, safety, and quality compliance.
- Apply technical expertise to resolve complex issues.
- Support tenders and fee proposals.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams.
- Drive net zero carbon initiatives.
You’ll need to have:
- Degree in construction or related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of materials, technology, and defect diagnosis.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and specification writing.
- Experience in contract administration and tender preparation.
