We are seeking an Associate Director in Cost and Commercial Management to join our Consult Health Team. We are actively seeking people with skills and experience of working in a healthcare delivery environment. We would also like to meet experienced project professionals who would like to move into the health sector as we can develop your skillset for this industry.
To perform the role, you will take responsibility for end to end service delivery, often with respect to large and complex commissions. You’ll be responsible for:
- End-to-end service delivery, ranging from large and complex commissions to lifecycle replacement programmes or estate rationalisations, ensuring that client objectives are met through the delivery of a value-added cost management service.
- Conducting feasibility studies, business cases and writing procurement reports.
- Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project.
- Managing estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
- Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
- Ensuring that post contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
- Ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
- Ensuring the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
- Being in attendance at meetings and active participation.
- Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
- Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants, at all project stages.
- Marketing and business development activities within the health sector.
- Providing line management and overseeing the recruitment.
You’ll need to have:
- A bachelor’s degree and are a member of a relevant institute.
- Experience of leading on large projects or a capital programme of work within the healthcare sector.
- Good working knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling.
- Experience in negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
- Understanding hot topic issues such as sustainability, social value and carbon reduction and how these impact the public sector.
- Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead high performing teams within a commercial environment.
- Experience in delivering projects in a consultancy environment, are keen to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
