  • Client focus - Deliver on our promise: You will work as part of the construction delivery team, taking direction from the project senior leadership team and other construction managers. You will build relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will build a strong working relationship with your clients and support the construction lead in turning the client’s vision into a deliverable onsite plan. Assists in the daily control, management and coordination of various packages to ensure these are delivered to cost plan, programme and in line with H&S, environmental and quality standards. Works with colleagues to manage an area, or procure a package of works, from beginning to end. Being financially aware and responsible. Maintains detailed diary of works planned and actually carried out by trade/sub-contractors. Establishes key relationships with trade/sub-contractors. Contributes to site progress meetings. Plays an active role in site safety initiatives (site inductions, safety inspections, recording observations). Understands business management processes and relevant digital platforms. Provides administrative support attending meetings and keeping notes of meetings. Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You will support the construction delivery team in influencing the long-term development of strategy for a function or business Unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.   • Create opportunity - For our people to excel: You will support other managers and junior members of your project team and provide an environment to share knowledge and experience. You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub. You will provide support to delivery teams, creating a culture of ownership, promoting roles and responsibilities.

You’ll need to have:

  • Interpreting drawings and scope of works.
  • Knowledge of construction methodology, process, activities and engineering principles.
  • Understanding of programmes, criticality and able to track progress against the plan.
  • Understands business priorities through construction to production, digital & data and responsible business.
  • Level 3 CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) NVQ, HNC, HND or relevant degree (or equivalent).
  • Developing knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Ensures that method statements are received, reviewed and communicated, whilst enforcing accepted methodology onsite.
  • Establishes good relationships with trade/subcontractors, at all levels.
  • Plays active role in site safety process and standards (inductions, inspections, observations etc).

You’ll also have:

  • Working towards membership of MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the construct sector.
  • Construction management expertise.
  • Developing commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
