The predicted salary is between 33075 - 40425 £ per year.
In this role you will perform surveillance to ensure works meet contract requirements and support the Nuclear Safety culture on the Hinkley Point C project. You will inspect, record, and raise non-conformances while coordinating with contractors and stakeholders to keep delivery on track. The role combines field inspection with QA oversight, contributing to project KPIs and safety standards. This is a hands-on, impact-focused position on a high-profile, large-scale construction programme.

Responsibilities
- Inspect works to ensure contract conformity and identify non-conformances
- Raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to contract partners
- Proactively communicate with NNB stakeholders and maintain relationships
- Contribute surveillance information to project KPIs
- Identify quality issues early and support mitigating actions
- Support temporary measures to maintain safety and quality
- Ensure design decisions are reviewed through formal processes
- Provide clear overview of site activities and upcoming work
- Ensure tasks comply with HSE requirements
- Maintain and review Quality Control Plans and Quality Inspection Records
- Review contractor performance against approved QC Plans
- Ensure inspections are completed and records are signed off before works are covered up
Key requirements
- Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Welding qualifications or equivalent vocational training and experience
- CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent welding inspector qualification (ISO 17024)
- PCN level 2 NDT (desirable to have surface and volumetric NDT)
- Broad knowledge of Engineering Construction industry, materials, trades methods and legal requirements
- Excellent organization, delegation, and communication skills
- Experience writing accurate, contract-relevant diaries
- Proven track record in large construction teams
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality under pressure
- Knowledge of relevant standards (RCC-M, BS EN, ASME) and safety-critical documentation (ITPs)
- Experience in weld inspection on large projects
