We are looking to employ a full-time Social Value Lead to work on consultancy projects within our Central Government Business Unit including the Ministry of Justice, Department for Education and Government Departments. The successful candidate will work in the Responsible Business team and report to the Sector Leads, leading a team of Social Value Managers delivering client-facing and business development SV activities.
The successful candidate will be required to lead and grow a high-performing team, develop strong client relationships, facilitate collaboration between contractors and consultants, and drive market-leading SV solutions that are effective and innovative.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading a team of Social Value Managers within our Central Government Business Unit (BU)
- Delivering high-value SV consultancy from RIBA Stages 1 to 7
- Leading various SV programmes and activities across the BU
- Managing relationships with our strategic clients
- Identifying opportunities to grow and enhance the SV service offer across the BU
- Supporting SV work winning through writing bids, proactive business development, networking, client liaison and raising Mace’s profile externally
- Ensuring our client requirements, targets and responsibilities are fully understood and executed efficiently
- Carrying out quality assurance checks on all key SV deliverables
- Organising and chairing in-person SV events to facilitate collaboration between clients, contractors and consultants
§ Identifying strategic-level KPI’s, targets and processes to monitor and report on the delivery of SV across the BU
- Leading on client presentations and obtaining client feedback
- Carrying out internal and external upskilling/training sessions
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach
- Creating reports for our clients, project directors and project teams including economic valuation of SV outcomes
- Identifying and producing case studies to assist with bids and communicating best practice
- Promoting the economic valuation of SV outcomes and non-financial reporting
- Assisting clients to maximise SV through their procurement processes
- Supporting the organisation of volunteering days across the BU
- Dealing with queries and any issues in a professional manner and effectively deal with any conflict as and when required
- Supporting the rest of Mace’s Responsible Business team, and any other ad hoc SV duties as required
You’ll ideally need to have:
· 10+ years’ experience in Social Value and/or Sustainability
· Experience in implementing and embedding SV initiatives into major projects/programmes
· Construction experience would be beneficial
· Passion and drive to maximise SV in the built environment
· Excellent knowledge and understanding of the latest SV drivers, policies, models and delivery mechanisms
· Knowledge of non-financial value reporting frameworks and economic valuation
· Experience in task-managing a team of experts
· Business development experience including bid writing, client interviews and presentations
· Skills in effective problem solving and negotiation
· Ability to persuade and influence stakeholders
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
· Calm and professional manner
· Solid administration and IT skills – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
