Overview

In this role you will manage the commercial delivery of electrical and MEP packages within high-regulation defence projects. You will lead NEC contract administration, oversee cost forecasting and reporting, and supervise commercial risk throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll collaborate with project managers, engineers and design teams to enable on-time, within-budget delivery while supporting client and supply chain relationships. Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial aspects of electrical works packages from procurement to final account
  • Prepare and maintain cost forecasts, CVRs, cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete reporting
  • Administer NEC contracts and ensure contractual obligations are understood and managed
  • Produce and review payment applications, subcontract valuations and final accounts
  • Support procurement activities including tender reviews and subcontract negotiations
  • Monitor project performance against budgets and coordinate corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
  • Collaborate with project managers and design teams to identify commercial risks and opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors and supply chain partners
  • Provide commercial advice across electrical infrastructure work packages

Key requirements

  • Degree qualified in quantity surveying, commercial management or related discipline
  • Proven experience managing electrical or MEP packages on major projects
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems including HV/LV infrastructure and substations
  • Experience administering NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts
  • Experience preparing forecasts, valuations, cost reporting and final accounts
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with negotiation skills
  • Experience in integrated project teams in complex delivery environments
  • Advanced stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
