In this role, you will guide cost planning, budgeting, forecasting and strategic procurement for Education sector clients, shaping cost strategies from feasibility to final accounts. You’ll collaborate with clients and consultants, drive value management at project outset, and manage post-contract cost processes. The position combines technical cost work with business development to promote Mace in the region. You’ll work in a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality, compliant outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies and benchmarking
- Apply value management techniques at project outset
- Lead cost planning, estimation and final cost plan ownership
- Manage the procurement process across pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation
- Control post-contract cost variances and change processes
- Oversee cost checking and valuation activities
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present to clients
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Serve as key interface with clients and other consultants
- Support marketing and business development to promote Mace in the region
- Maintain knowledge of standard forms of industry contracts
- Assist in developing new business opportunities with existing and new clients
Key requirements
- Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role
- Previous experience working with Education sector clients
- Sound knowledge of capital planning, forecasting and strategic procurement
- Strong understanding of industry best practice
- Experience managing people and risk
- Proficient in Excel (sorting, pivot tables, charts)
- Understanding of sustainability, social value and carbon reduction themes
- Degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent
- MRICS membership (Essential)
