In this role, you will provide commercial leadership and governance across a complex rail programme, coordinating with clients, delivery teams and industry partners. You will steer commercial performance, contract administration and risk/change management across a portfolio of major projects. You’ll develop commercial strategies, mitigate risks and build trusted relationships with stakeholders. The position offers impact at scale within nationally significant infrastructure, with a clear focus on safety, quality and sustainability. Responsibilities

  • Champion safety, quality, sustainability and compliance
  • Manage key commercial assignments across the programme
  • Administer contracts and commercial documentation
  • Assess commercial impacts of design and programme changes
  • Develop commercial strategies and governance frameworks
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks
  • Build trusted client and stakeholder relationships
  • Manage, mentor and develop commercial teams

Key requirements

  • MRICS, or equivalent professional qualification, or working towards chartership
  • Extensive commercial management experience within major rail infrastructure programmes
  • Experience in consultancy, client-side or programme delivery environments
  • Strong NEC contract knowledge (administration, compensation events, change management, governance)
  • Experience managing commercial risk, cost management, forecasting and programme controls
  • Proven experience supporting complex infrastructure projects through the delivery lifecycle
  • Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders, clients and delivery partners
  • Experience leading and developing commercial professionals within multidisciplinary teams
