Overview
In this role you will drive cost planning, budgeting and procurement for Education sector projects within Mace’s Cost and Commercial Management team.
You will lead feasibility studies, value management, cost reporting and final accounts, while coordinating with clients and consultants to ensure project success.

Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies and develop business cases; prepare procurement reports
- Apply value management at project outset
- Manage estimating, cost planning and final cost plan ownership
- Oversee procurement process end-to-end (prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection, contracts)
- Control post-contract costs, variances, change management
- Oversee cost checking, valuations and monthly post-contract cost reports
- Participate in meetings and drive active engagement with stakeholders
- Perform value engineering and lifecycle costing
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Act as key interface with clients and other consultants
- Support marketing and business development in the Education sector
- Provide line management and oversee recruitment within the team
- Key requirements
- Bachelor (degree) and MRICS essential
- Track record delivering Education sector projects of varying scale
- Strong knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling
- Negotiation, influencing and communication skills; command professional respect at all levels
- Digitally savvy; ability to build lasting client relationships and lead high-performing teams
- Experience in a cost consultancy setting and a drive to grow within Mace
