Overview
In this role you drive commercial management for complex projects in a live heritage environment, partnering with clients and consultants to shape procurement, value management and cost control.
You build robust cost plans, oversee final accounts, and identify improvements to processes and systems.
You’ll work across private and public sector clients, applying NEC contract frameworks and advancing sustainability considerations.

Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies, advise on procurement strategies and contract selection, and prepare procurement reports
- Apply value management techniques at project outset
- Lead cost planning, budgeting, and estimating, and own the final cost plan
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Act as a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants throughout the project
- Handle contractual frameworks and standard form contracts
- Identify opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates and products
- Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes
- Key requirements
- Previous experience in a cost consultancy role
- Experience with private and public sector property and infrastructure clients (beneficial)
- NEC form of contract experience (essential)
- NEC PM accreditation (preferred)
- Cost planning, budgeting, and estimating experience
- Experience managing people and risk
- Knowledge of contract law and contractual frameworks for construction
- Knowledge of contract administration, value engineering, and life cycle costing
- Understanding of sustainability topics (Sustainability, Social Value, Carbon Reduction) in public sector
- Degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent
- MRICS/RICS membership (professional)
