Overview
In this role you will provide commercial support across category management and major procurements within acquisition strategy. You will develop commercial models, value-for-money analyses, and assurance across procurement activities, helping ensure supplier arrangements meet programme objectives. You will engage with suppliers, support negotiations, and quantify benefits and savings to enable informed decisions. This position sits at the intersection of commercial excellence and project delivery, enabling safe, high-impact infrastructure and public-sector outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Should-cost modelling, benchmarking and value-for-money assessments
- Support development and delivery of category management plans and sourcing strategies
- Develop commercial models, incentive mechanisms and recommendations
- Develop commercial evaluation models, pricing schedules and evaluation criteria
- Support supplier engagement, negotiations and commercial discussions
- Identify and manage commercial risks and support mitigation planning
- Provide commercial assurance across procurement activities, business cases and governance submissions
- Support development of commercial strategies, contract models and approaches
- Quantify benefits, savings opportunities and value realization outcomes
- Produce commercial analysis and recommendations to support decision making
Key requirements
- Experience in commercial, procurement or category management roles
- Experience in construction or engineering professional services categories
- Strong commercial modelling, should-cost analysis and benchmarking capability
- Experience developing commercial evaluation methodologies and pricing models
- Understanding of commercial principles, contracting approaches and incentive mechanisms
- Experience supporting procurements and supplier negotiations
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Understanding of public procurement regulations and commercial governance
- Experience within major programmes, infrastructure, healthcare or public sector environments desirable
- MCIPS, MRICS, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification desirable
- Exposure or understanding of PA23 is desirable
