The Benefits Management (BM) Lead is a key role within our PMO function and will bring the outcomes and benefits of the Programme to life to provide clarity for the key audiences, including the sponsor department and other stakeholders.
The BM Lead will work with the teams responsible, primarily Finance, and alongside other PMO functions to integrate benefits management into the suite of the client’s programme controls, including reporting.
They will ensure that the benefits are a clearly articulated key measure of the performance of the programme, and of the schemes within it.
You’ll be responsible for: Developing and implementing a benefits realisation strategy and framework for our client that sets out the approach and methods for benefits planning, realisation, mapping, evaluation and categorisation for the programme.
Developing and implementing benefits management implementation plans for both the total programmatic elements and the schemes at Trust level.
Working with relevant PMO, Programme Controls functions and Finance team to integrate benefits management into key functions, including but not limited to reporting, cost management and risk management.
Working with programmatic enabling functions to implement the framework and identify, map and plan the benefits that will achieve the targets previously developed for the programme business case.
Collaborating with the delivery team on a framework for benefits for inclusion in scheme business cases which will achieve strategic objectives and deliver the programme business case.
Monitoring benefits realisation plans and regularly provide assurance to the leadership of how the programme is adhering to, delivering the strategy, and realising the benefits, recommending improvements where appropriate Partnering with the client team to meet expectations and build strong professional relationships across the programme.
You’ll need to have: Demonstrable experience of benefits management, including planning, mapping and realisation on a major programme or mega project.
Demonstrable experience of development of a benefits management strategy
Extensive knowledge of the HM Treasury Green Book, UK government investment appraisal methods and business cases.
Demonstrable experience of working on publicly funded major programmes or mega projects.
Ability to demonstrate initiative, sound judgment and problem-solving capability.
Communicate clearly and effectively with individuals, teams and stakeholders.
Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
