Overview

In this role you support senior category management and major procurements, delivering commercial modelling, value-for-money assessments and commercial assurance to ensure procurement strategies meet programme objectives. You work within a project-focused team to develop commercial strategies, evaluation models and supplier arrangements. You help quantify benefits and savings while maintaining governance and compliance across procurement activities. This is a client-focused, safety-conscious position in a dynamic, public-sector–leaning environment with opportunities to influence major programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide should-cost modelling, benchmarking and value-for-money assessments
  • Support development and delivery of category management plans and sourcing strategies
  • Develop commercial models, incentive mechanisms and recommendations
  • Lead development of commercial evaluation models, pricing schedules and evaluation criteria
  • Support supplier engagement, negotiations and commercial discussions
  • Identify and manage commercial risks with mitigation planning
  • Provide commercial assurance across procurement activities, business cases and governance submissions
  • Support development of commercial strategies, contract models and approaches
  • Quantify benefits, savings opportunities and value realisation outcomes
  • Produce commercial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making

Key requirements

  • Experience in commercial, procurement or category management roles
  • Experience in construction or engineering professional services categories
  • Strong commercial modelling, should-cost analysis and benchmarking capability
  • Experience developing commercial evaluation methodologies and pricing models
  • Understanding of commercial principles, contracting approaches and incentive mechanisms
  • Experience supporting procurements and supplier negotiations
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Understanding of public procurement regulations and commercial governance
  • Experience within major programmes, infrastructure, healthcare or public sector environments desirable
  • Professional qualifications desirable: MCIPS, MRICS, CIMA
