Overview
In this role you support the Commercial Lead in managing complex third-party agreements across a major infrastructure programme.
You will work with commercial, legal, technical and delivery teams to establish frameworks, mitigate risk, and ensure agreements align with governance and programme objectives.
You shape commercial strategy, assess models, and provide contractual guidance to enable successful delivery.
You will engage external stakeholders and drive value-for-money while maintaining compliance.

Responsibilities
- Support development and implementation of commercial strategies for third-party agreements
- Assist in negotiation and execution of complex commercial agreements with value for money and risk allocation
- Develop and assess commercial models to meet delivery objectives
- Provide commercial advice on contract terms, liabilities, indemnities, and risk management
- Support negotiations with external stakeholders (authorities, utilities, landowners, third parties)
- Collaborate with legal, technical and delivery teams to ensure practical, compliant agreements
- Manage or support contract variations, amendments and extensions
- Review third-party cost estimates and commercial proposals for fairness and value
- Monitor and manage commercial risks, opportunities and financial exposures
- Maintain governance, reporting and assurance processes for informed decision making
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, policies and internal controls
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate outcomes
- Provide regular reporting on agreement progress, commitments and key risk areas
- Support handover and implementation of commercial obligations across the programme team
