The project: Our client is one of the largest water companies in the UK, responsible for water and wastewater services in England. Their purpose is to deliver their services in an environmentally sustainable, economically beneficial, and socially responsible manner and create sustainable long-term value for all. We currently provide the client with a range of services focussed on programme and project management and are always looking for opportunities to deliver more value through the provision of expert and strategic staff. To plan and lead the successful delivery of a programme of works being delivered by an 'Area delivery team' made up of the client's partners and contractors in accordance with their corporate values and following requirements: health and safety strategy - personnel safety, process safety and health and wellbeing, target operating model - system thinking, situational awareness and production line thinking and outcomes - regulatory, customer and resilience. To be the interface between the area delivery team and the business at a senior level and will be required to manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of the capital programme in line with their business strategy.Please Note: This role is required to be based from our clients office in Warrington, Cheshire 3 days per weekOur values shape the way we consult, and define the people we want to join us on our journey: You will be a leading advocate of Mace's value of safety first, and be accountable for leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards.You will possess advanced technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.You will ensure the successful delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.You will promote and influence quality and service excellence in all conversations and programme interactions.Managing application of specific planning/scheduling methods, techniques, and tools.Good working knowledge of planning/scheduling, project controls methodologies.Ability to advise on complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively.Able to manage planning/scheduling delivery of medium/high complexity.projects/programmes.Leads and manages a team of professionals delivering planning/schedule management services and responsible for staff development.As a planning/schedule management specialist, stays up to date with key industry/professional trends.In depth knowledge of schedule management tools and software.Understanding of data management.Excellent attention to detail and able to validate and check schedule management inputs, recording and reports produced, providing basic commentary and analysis.Manages assistant and planning managers where required by the scale of the project.Selling the business and winning work.Accountable for the planning function on allocated project/tender. Accountable for ensuring that projects/tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored. Supports project management function in delivery of the project/tender, as required ensuring they are delivered on time and profitably. Responsible for the planning of medium to high complexity projects, a portfolio projects or sections of larger projects.You will be responsible for project budgets and ensure operations are fiscally and ethically viable and meet organisational and legislative compliance obligations.You will support the operations director and other senior stakeholders to directly influence long term development of strategy for a function or business unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.You will commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values. Create opportunity - for our people to excel:You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre, and knowledge hub.Exposure of working as a Primavera P6 project planner on large scale civil engineering/infrastructure projects ideally for a tier 1 contractor or a client-side consultancy.In depth knowledge of schedule management tools and software.Strong management skills and talent development.Develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with the client and other project stakeholders (internal and external).Significant experience in the use of planning techniques in a range of multi-disciplinary sectors.Construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace have to offer.Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.Extensive experience in the successful planning of projects and programmes in the consult sector.Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.Strong commercial and financial acumen.Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.We are also open to discussing part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options if suitable within the role. #Project & Programme ManagementEmployment type: Full-time
