We are looking to appoint a Security Coordinator to join our Defence team in Cumbria, supporting the delivery of a high profile and highly regulated Defence programme of national importance.

This role requires highly trusted professionals who can operate with discretion, integrity and accountability within a secure environment.

Due to commence in late autumn to early winter, the position sits within an Integrated Client Team and offers responsibility for the safe and controlled delivery of complex construction and infrastructure projects within a long-term Defence programme.

This candidate should have eligibility to obtain and maintain UK security clearance (SC).

You’ll be responsible for: Coordinating security clearance applications and renewals (BPSS, SC and DV) ensuring records are maintained accurately and confidentially.

Supporting personnel security processes, including onboarding, transfers, leavers and changes in clearance status.

Acting as a liaison between employees, project teams, clients, UKSV and other security stakeholders.

Maintaining security records, registers, trackers and documentation in line with programme and client requirements.

Coordinating security briefings, inductions and awareness activities for project personnel.

Supporting security audits, inspections and compliance reviews by preparing documentations and evidence.

Supporting the reporting and escalation of security incidents, concerns and potential breaches.

You’ll need to have: Experience working in a Defence, Government or other highly regulated environment.

Knowledge of UK Government security vetting processes, including BPSS, SC and DV clearances.

Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Understanding of personnel, physical and information security principles Knowledge of data protection, freedom of information and related security legislation.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
