As the Construction Supervisor, you will direct site safety on behalf of Mace and our client.
You will be responsible for reviewing, recording and auditing ongoing works to ensure compliance with the client and industry standards including but not limited to documentation, planned works, works in progress, works completion and final walkovers.
You will attend programme and project meetings as required and will utilise the client environment, health and safety system: Eco online to record and manage the reporting of your work.
The project: Our client is the utilities provider in the South-West geographic area.
Their purpose is to deliver services in an environmentally sustainable, economically beneficial, and socially responsible manner and create sustainable long-term value for all.
Conducting site surveys, identify hazards and complete risk assessments.
Highlighting potential specification and design issues before they affect construction, cost or schedule.
Assisting Project Managers in managing contractors, ensuring measures are in place to manage construction risks.
Monitoring contractor performance, conduct regular audits, and keep records of construction activities including diaries of people, plant, and material.
Reviewing contractor procedures to ensure compliance with accepted RAMs, standards, and specifications.
Ensuring that construction activities and materials supplied by contractors comply with relevant standards, specifications, and legislation.
Witnessing testing and commissioning activities and manage acceptance procedures.
Inspecting finished works, certify quality standards, and manage handover activities, including snagging items.
Investigating new materials and technology applications to meet maintenance and construction requirements.
Providing technical construction expertise and protect the principles of water hygiene.
Significant experience on major, complex infrastructure projects in live environments.
Strong HSE, quality, commissioning and buildability expertise across multi‑disciplinary delivery.
Proven team leadership, programme management and NEC4 contract knowledge.
Proven experience in controlling quality and workmanship during construction.
Knowledge of water industry standard specifications.
Relevant CSCS card and/or SMSTS accreditation.
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Full UK driving licence.
Working towards membership of MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development is desirable.
NEC 4 ECC supervisor is desirable but not essential Construction management expertise including, but not limited to, experience in monitoring works to ensure they meet the standards and specifications defined within the scope of works, identifying and managing defects, witnessing tests and inspections and providing overall quality assurance across the project.
