Overview

As a Quality Management Lead on the Hinkley Point C programme, you ensure the supply chain adheres to contracted QA/QC requirements.

You operate within the Quality Management team to develop and implement PQCPs, monitor CQAPs, and coordinate with inspection entities to drive compliant delivery.

You will guide contractors on QA practices, manage LTQR reviews, and ensure quality documentation and records support safe, on-schedule construction.

This role offers hands-on influence across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning in a high-stakes, nuclear context.

You will partner with diverse stakeholders to uphold safety, quality, and performance at a grand scale.

Responsibilities

  • Review and accept CQAPs from the supply chain
  • Identify audit needs and coordinate with Supply Chain Auditors
  • Produce PQCPs for each contract
  • Ensure deployment of QA/QC contractual arrangements (GQAS, LTQR, ITP, etc.)
  • Provide guidance on CQAPs, LTQR strategies, and Quality Related Activities
  • Manage LTQR reviews and LTQR provision strategies
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e. g., Direction Industrielle)
  • Ensure manufacturing surveillance is applied via graded approaches
  • Verify ITPs are fit-for-purpose and distributed for review
  • Coordinate and drive documentation reviews and witnessed inspections
  • Lead NNB review and acceptance of manufacturing documentation
  • Perform joint inspections when required
  • Support non-conformance resolution and corrective actions
  • Support acceptance of end-of-manufacture/erection reports and quality releases
  • Produce quality documentation (specifications, procedures) as needed
  • Lead the delivery of end-of-manufacturing records and quality release to the construction site
  • Key requirements
  • Experience in project delivery, ideally in the nuclear sector, with strong QA/QC exposure
  • Clear understanding of quality management in large, contract-led projects
  • Confident, articulate communicator capable of presentations to varied audiences
  • Collaborative, open to ideas, and able to influence others
  • Experience interfacing with project teams and supply chains
  • Data analysis, reporting, and recommendation skills
  • Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships in a multicultural environment
  • Team player with initiative and flexibility
  • Fluent in English; French knowledge advantageous
  • Knowledge of nuclear sector (new build) and site license conditions
  • Knowledge of welding, NDT/NDE, and relevant nuclear codes
  • HNC/HND or degree in a relevant science/engineering subject; equivalent qualifications
  • Proven leadership in QA/QC within nuclear or safety-critical industries
