Leads and is accountable for the planning function across area of responsibility. Accountable for ensuring that projects and tenders within portfolios are effectively planned, scheduled and monitored. Leads the deployment and implementation of the business’ planning and project controls procedures across portfolio. Responsible for the planning on larger or more complex projects, minor business units or parts of larger business units.

You will be responsible for ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored. Advises on complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively. Manages planning/scheduling delivery of medium/high complexity projects/programmes. Oversees planning/scheduling, EVM, project controls methodologies. Influences complex requirements and communicates analysis and corrective measures effectively. Ability to communicate effectively with client/s, project team and stakeholders. Creates plans and analyses trends using numerical and statistical techniques. Supports senior management in negotiations, contract development, due diligence and other business development. Leads the planning team and provides leadership and direction through managers/team. Inspires and empower individuals within their portfolio to deliver high quality standards and outputs. Undertakes tasks required to fulfil the requirements of the project/assignment. Provides performance management, technical and career development and coaching. Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll need to have:
- Expert knowledge of schedule management tools and software.
- Mastery in setting up effective planning/schedule management systems and procedures.
- Able to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
- Multi Industry Construction Experience.
- Develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with client/s and other project stakeholders (internal and external).
- Manage and resolve any actual or potential conflicts with the Client or project stakeholders.

- Degree (or equivalent) with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the Construction, Programme, Project or Commercial Management disciplines.
You’ll also have:
- Excellent attention to detail and able to validate and check schedule management inputs, recording and reports produced, providing commentary and analysis.

- Working towards Chartered/registered member of a relevant institution Accreditation from recognised industry body (e.g APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA).

- Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
- Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
