Provides cost management services from contract signature and award to completion of projects in various different sectors. Supervises daily activities of a team of professionals. Our values shape the way we consult, and define the people we want to join us on our journey:

You will possess advanced technical expertise in local Health and Safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio. - Client focus - Deliver on our promise: You will manage the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives. You will prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses to achieve formal execution by appropriate parties. You will prepare costing associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges, and present these to clients. Prepares contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses and assist formal execution by the appropriate parties. Advises on administration of the terms of construction works or services contracts. Measures and provides valuations of the work carried out and adjust variations in accordance with the terms of the contract and agree with the contractor. Ensures adequate cost control and reporting services during the contract. Prepares financial reports for the client in the form and at the frequency required. Identifying all costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges. Participates in the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and any nominated subcontractors/suppliers. Advises on the issue of certificates of practical completion and ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed. Advises on issue of certificate of making good defects and final completion in accordance with any requirements relating to completion, submissions and approvals. Delivers improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change. Manages a team of professional roles (may include support roles), driving performance and results, whilst delivering performance management, technical development and coaching. Seeks opportunities for continuous improvements/improving working processes. Develops effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Manages stakeholders. Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll need to have:
- Proven experience in commercial management.
- Sound understanding of costs and timescales of work undertaken and implications of risk of failure to deliver.
- Proven experience in areas such as risk management and change control management.
- Understanding different types of contract including the method of measurement.
- Negotiation skills.
- Analytical skills.
- Digitally Competent.
- A degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
- Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of project/role.
- Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s.
- Experience in most forms of contract.
- Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration and Contract Management.
- Ability to be effective communicator with all stakeholders.
- Ability to seek opportunities for implementing improved working practices.
- Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Problem solving and analytical skills for resolving cost and contract administration and procurement issues within consult.
- Managing and developing Graduate Trainees and/or Assistant Cost Consultants.
- Identifying and generating business development opportunities with existing clients.
- Identifying and participating in new initiatives that add value that lead to service improvement e.g. BIM.
- Champions and operates within an inclusivity environment.
- Understands personal strengths and weaknesses, seeks learning and support where appropriate.
- Understanding of present-day issues such as Sustainability, Social Value and Carbon Reduction.
- Strong understanding of industry best practice.
You’ll also have:
- Knowledge of BIM techniques and applications.
- Detailed knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
- Capex V Opex Cost analysis/advice.
- Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
- Professional membership or working towards i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent).
- Developed commercial and financial acumen.
- Developing experience of managing relationships with key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
