Mace Construct has worked at Heathrow for more than 25 years. Over that time, its role has extended across more than 400 live frameworks and projects on a 1,227-hectare campus. About the role
The Senior Commercial Manager is responsible for the cost management of complex works packages, managing risk and opportunity ensuring profit on packages and project. Supporting the senior commercial team members in administering the monthly commercial procedures such as Cost Value Report. This role will be responsible for two projects;
· Chiller asset replacement and modernisation of life expired chillers or associated chilled water system components across Heathrow terminals 3, 4, and 5. at airside and landside locations.
· T4 BMS upgrade project is to reconfigure the existing BMS functionality spread across several life-expired systems and migrate the T4 BMS HVAC controls to a single upgraded, modern, supportable, and secure platform.
What you’ll be doing
· Manages & provides leadership to a team of Managers and Professionals, ensuring the principles, structures, tools/capabilities and responsibilities are in place to deliver area plans and deliver excellence.
· Addresses subcontractor contractual claims and change.
· Produces monthly client application.
· Approves invoices and issues IPC.
· Drafts necessary technical and contractual corresponded.
· Commercially managers design consultants and specialist fees.
· Ensures site team acts with in commercial and legal procedures and agreements.
· Communicates with clients and subcontractors.
· Focuses on cost, schedule, risk, and performance management throughout the entire project lifecycle.
· Implements cost control, (integrating commercial role with planning/scheduling team), risk analysis, earned value management, forecasting, and change management.
· Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
What you’ll bring
· Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management (or equivalent).
· CSCS.
· Strong financial skills and commercial acumen.
· Understood project construction plan.
· Measurement to assess variations.
· Leadership capability and experience managing a team
· NEC 3 and NEC 4 Contract Experience
Nice to have
· Experience working on airport construction projects
· Past experience of major projects (£25 -50m) or experience managing multiple projects, and reporting multiple projects upstream and downstream
· Experience Managing multiple projects at all stages (Preconstruction and Construction).
· Experience working with a reputable main contractor
· Formal qualification MRICS, CIOB or similar
