MacDonald Search Group is a national permanent placement recruiting firm and we recruit on behalf of hiring companies. Our client is an established industrial services company and they are on the hunt for a skilled Service Technician to join their team. The office is located in Scarborough and will be homebase daily with field visits also being required within the GTA - a company van is provided for field visits that is picked up and dropped off to the office.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to inspect, repair, and maintain electric motors, pumps, and related rotating equipment for a wide range of industrial and commercial clients.
Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, diagnose, and repair pumps, motors, and mechanical assemblies
- Perform maintenance and testing to ensure quality and reliability
- Assemble and align components for proper operation
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts used
- Assist in shop organization, equipment setup, and workflow improvements
- Support field technicians when needed for on-site work
Requirements:
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience (motors, pumps, or similar equipment)
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics or repair documentation
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn and grow within a skilled trade environment
- Previous experience in a repair shop or industrial maintenance setting is an asset
