About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-established, privately owned service company operating in the construction and industrial maintenance space. The organization supports critical infrastructure clients and has built a strong reputation for reliability, technical expertise, and safety compliance. The company is entering its next phase of growth and is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead day-to-day operations, strengthen financial and operational controls, and drive consistent execution across the business.
The Role
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the business, with a strong focus on operations, project execution, and financial accountability. This is an execution-oriented leadership role that works closely with the owner, operations leadership, and finance support to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership across operations, maintenance, and construction activities
- Own full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and financial review
- Oversee project execution, acting as the escalation point for complex field or client issues
- Review and approve estimates, invoices, and change orders to ensure margin discipline
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including SOPs, internal controls, and process enhancements
- Provide oversight of payroll, benefits administration, and office operations
- Support purchasing, inventory management, and vendor performance
- Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior operations or general management role within construction, maintenance, or a related field
- Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience managing P&L and job profitability
- Ability to lead both field and office teams with credibility and clarity
- Experience implementing systems, processes, and operational improvements in a growing organization
- Solid understanding of safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements
