Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join our team and inspire young people to lead active, healthy lives. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality PE lessons across a range of age groups and abilities, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and wellbeing in line with Curriculum for Excellence (CfE).
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- A relevant degree in Physical Education or Sports Science (e.g. BEd, PGDE in PE, or equivalent).
- Full registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
- Demonstrated experience teaching PE within Scottish schools or an equivalent educational setting.
- Strong understanding of the Curriculum for Excellence, particularly within the Health and Wellbeing framework.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to inclusive practice and promoting participation from all learners.
Desirable
- Experience in extracurricular coaching or leading school sports teams.
- Additional coaching qualifications (e.g. UKCC Level 1/2 in relevant sports).
- First Aid certification.
